Here is a photo inside the courtyard of our hotel. From the outside the hotel is just a blank wall with a locked metal gate. Inside it was beautiful.

The rest of the pictures are of typical street scenes in Huaraz. Most everyone walks in the street of huaraz instead of on the sidewalks. Cars don't stop for you, but just blow their horn as they approach. There are also no stop signs at intersections and only a couple red lights. Again, the cars honk and just drive through the intersection. Cars will also honk to say hi, taxis slow down and honk as they drive by, hoping you will accept a ride, etc. Shops blare music into the street (so loud you have to yell to carry on a conversation while walking by. Cars have bullhorns mounted on the roof and the driver yells political slogans. The result is a nonstop cacophony which is somehow appealing.
